" Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another." Mark 9:50
For centuries salt has been one of civilizations most precious commodities. Not only is it revered as a natural preservative, but also as one of the most effective taste-enhancers on earth. Salt makes food taste better. It has the amazing ability to transform the blandest of meals into robust & tantalizing entrees! For this reason, salt helps to develop one's appetite.
No wonder Christ commanded His disciples to "have salt in (themselves)." Sadly, the world often sees Christ's gospel-the Bread of Life-as blah, unappealing and completely unnecessary. (cf. John 5:39-47). It is our responsibility, as believers who gives non-Christians an appetite for God. Nothing hinders the cause of Christ more than Christians who have lost their ability to attract people to Christ.
Through the message that comes from both your lips and your life, give people an appetite for God. When they come to Him, they will find the Bread of Life that satisfies their hunger.
